Alternative visualisation towards reducing energy consumption in daily life. Our project interfaces revolve around (enticing)(inferring) on basic human psychological behaviour of slight discontentment and satisfaction. To positively stimulate using less energy in situations you're not necessarily aware off.
This project started from the thought that by design switching off is usually much more difficult than switching on. We designed chargers that entice on the feeling of visual unease to psychologically stimulate the removal off these plugs after usage. And building further on that we designed a web-browser and smartphone interface build upon the same concept. The web-browser over one day time period automatically closes it's tabs for which the timer can be reset by pressing on it to stimulate only having important tabs open. For the smartphone interface we play more in upon the feeling of satisfaction, having people close their background application by playing a Tetris game and using satisfying sound effects.
